About The Hotel

'The Barn' is a vegan guest house in the beautiful New Forest, Hampshire. Situated within the New Forest National Park, the house is an Edwardian 'Arts and Crafts Movement' property which we fully refurbished when we moved here during 2001. It is full of character and the occasional eccentricity.....

We offer our guests a restful stay with easy access for walking, cycling and visits to the south coast. Southampton is only 5 miles away and 'The Barn' can easily be reached by road and rail. Nearby there is a range of facilities including a Post Office and newsagent, a Co-op convenience shop, three pubs and a wonderful organic farm shop. Although Ashurst couldn't perhaps be described as a typical 'sleepy Forest village' its location makes it ideal for exploring all that this magnificent area has to offer.

Our guests can opt for three course evening meals, with menus tailored to meet individual preferences. And you can relax knowing that none of the food we provide contains any animal products.

Sandra and Richard Barnett established 'The Barn' in 2004 to provide friendly accommodation with an environmental perspective specifically for vegans and vegetarians. Discounted B&B prices are available for those arriving by public transport or bike (10% for stays of two nights or more).

We prefer an informal and easy-going approach with personalised service to ensure that you have an enjoyable break away from home.

We have plenty of off road parking and secure, under cover, cycle storage. Oh and, by the way, the house has been called 'The Barn' since it was built (c. 1910)
